Young Global Leaders Network Public Lecture Series will predominantly centre on the economy of Ghana and/or Africa, its challenges and the role of the youth and tertiary institutions. Topics that focus on youth entrepreneurship and involvement in government, women in leadership, youth in politics, governments and institutions policy on the youth including solving the high rate of youth unemployment in Africa and any other topics that is of relevance to the mission and objectives of the organization will be tackled.
The Public Lectures exemplifies YGLN’s mission to advance youth entrepreneurship, empower and amplify the young generation to overcome ensuing challenges that engender the emergence of a generation of youth leaders and entrepreneurs across all sectors as a tool for the betterment of society and to address socio-economic problems by freely exchanging ideas, research and knowledge.
This is an annual event which seeks to bring together students, opinion leaders, tink tanks, politicians, entrepreneurs, women leaders, etc to exchange knowledge and educate ourselves as well as being informed on relevant issues facing the youth of Africa.
On the 25th October 2019, YGLN held its maiden Public Lecture Series at the University of Professional Studies under the theme – The State of the Ghanaian Youth – Graduate unemployment, entrepreneurship & securing the future.
The Public Lecture was graced by Prof. Abednego Feehi Okoe Amartey, Vice-Chancellor of UPSA, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Franklin Kwetey MP, Ketu South Constituency, Fmr. Ghanaian Minister, Marrick Kofi Gane – International Development Expert and Independent Presidential Aspirant, Dr. Cynthia Forson – Associate Professor & Deputy PROVOST at Lancaster University, Ghana.
